Pocatello is 7-1 against Bonneville since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Thunder will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bees at 5:00 p.m. Pocatello is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Pocatello let Wood River stack six runs on them in the fifth inning on Saturday but luckily Pocatello prevailed anyway. The Thunder came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 12-8.
Pocatello got a massive performance out of Jakobi Nebeker, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jordy Snell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pocatello lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Bonneville couldn't beat Hillcrest on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Bees lost 16-6 to the Knights.
Alyvia Rudd and Alli Sutherland stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rudd went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Sutherland went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Pocatello's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Bonneville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pocatello hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Bonneville struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Pocatello's way against Bonneville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Pocatello made off with a 17-0 victory. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bees turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
