Baseball Recap: Arcadia Comes Up Short

Arcadia fell victim to Chincoteague and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ponies. The Firebirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ponies earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Arcadia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian White, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. White has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Arcadia's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-7. As for Chincoteague, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

Coming up, Arcadia will square off against Laurel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chincoteague, they will take on Nandua at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
