Basketball Game Preview: Stanton County Trojans vs. Greeley County Jackrabbits

The Stanton County Trojans will square off against the Greeley County Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Stanton County is headed out to face Greeley County after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Trojans breezed past Holly to the tune of 62-33 on Tuesday. The Trojans pushed the score to 52-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats had little chance of recovering from.

Stanton County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of David Crane, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Gerardo Robles, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Robles' big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Corey Wilson, who posted 11 points.

Stanton County was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holly only posted three.

Meanwhile, Greeley County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Elkhart 80-49.

Stanton County beat Greeley County 60-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
