Softball Recap: Penfield Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Penfield hadn't done well against Rush-Henrietta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Royal Comets with a sharp 11-5 win. Considering the Patriots have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Penfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Rush-Henrietta, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Coincidentally, Penfield and Rush-Henrietta will both be playing Webster Schroeder the next time they take the field. The Royal Comets will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
