Softball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Perry couldn't beat Riverdale on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Commodores came up short against the Falcons, falling 29-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Commodores of the 23-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Kierra Woods was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Riverdale, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Perry will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Upper Scioto Valley at 5:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Riverdale, they are taking a road trip to face off against Wynford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
