Baseball Recap: Woodford County Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Woodford County's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Paul Laurence Dunbar Bulldogs 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Nolan Asher was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Woodford County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-12. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-26 record this season.
