Softball Recap: Oak Ridge Wins Going Away Against Folsom

Oak Ridge got themselves on the board against Folsom on Wednesday, but Folsom never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Oak Ridge got a great performance from Ellison Schroeder as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Schroeder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carly Short was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aly Watson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Oak Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Oak Ridge's record is now 20-3. As for Folsom, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11-2.

Oak Ridge has already played their next contest, a 0-0 defeat against Destiny Christian Academy on the 8th. As for Folsom, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-2 loss against Woodcreek on the 8th.
