Baseball Recap: Escambia Academy Comes Up Short

Escambia Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Fort Dale Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. The Cougars have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Isaac Radcliff made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Escambia Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Traegen James, who went 3-for-5 with one RBI.

Escambia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Fort Dale Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.
