Baseball Recap: Wilson Wins Going Away Against Lee

Wilson's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Lee Generals 16-4. The matchup marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season so far.

Bryson Pickens and Jack Darby made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Pickens pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Darby pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Pickens scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Darby got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that Pickens' scored this season.

In other pitching news, Brenton Stricklin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Cayden McCormack was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Brodie Pruitt, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wilson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lee, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson will venture away from home to face off against West Limestone at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge St. John Paul II at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
