Football Recap: Palm Desert Comes Up Short

Palm Desert fell victim to La Quinta and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blackhawks. The Aztecs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Palm Desert's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for La Quinta, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Palm Desert and La Quinta could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Aztecs (ranked 293rd) will meet Murrieta Mesa (ranked 97th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Quinta will face off against Shadow Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (390 vs. 37).
