Ripon posted their closest victory since March 26th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hilmar Yellowjackets, sneaking past 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Yellowjackets on Wednesday, they had to take a 7-5 defeat.

Joseph Molthen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ripon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Weber, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ripon's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Hilmar, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ripon will face off against rival Escalon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hilmar is set to square off against their familiar foe Ripon Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Yellowjackets have won four straight at home, while the Knights won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
