Basketball Recap: Belleville Mennonite Takes a Loss

Belleville Mennonite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 59-38 to Columbia County Christian. The Thunder were down 52-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

It was another big night for Pierce Cughan, who went 11 for 22 en route to 30 points along with seven assists and four steals for Columbia County Christian. Cughan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Lenker, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Belleville Mennonite's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Columbia County Christian, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 22-3.

Belleville Mennonite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbia County Christian, they will face off against Faith Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Columbia County Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.
