Softball Recap: Hicksville Find Success

Hicksville won the last time they faced Edgerton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Aces came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 7-6.

Kennedy Adams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Slattery, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Mckenna Baird was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Hicksville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Edgerton, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Coming up, Hicksville will be taking part in a tournament against Tinora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgerton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
