Football Recap: Unioto Piles Up the Points Against Piketon

While Unioto put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Piketon. The Shermans claimed a resounding 47-0 victory over the Redstreaks. That looming 47-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Shermans yet this season.

It was another big night for Cody Braden, who rushed for 159 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Levi Beam made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Unioto proved: they limited Piketon to a paltry two yards per carry. While seven picked up at least three total tackles, Braden stood above the rest. He rushed for 159 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Unioto didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Judah Zickafoose, Brayden Harsha, and Beam picked up one apiece. Beam got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win keeps Unioto at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.2 points on average this season. As for Piketon, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
