Baseball Game Preview: Lake Hornets vs. Clarkdale Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Lake will face off against Clarkdale. Lake will head out to square off against Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Lake is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Clarkdale just ended the team's 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Hornets were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the eight games prior), but the Bulldogs' pitcher proved too tough.

Kasen Tune spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Lake's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-3. As for Clarkdale, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
