Football Recap: Carroll Skates Past Homestead with Ease

While Carroll put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Homestead. The Chargers blew past the Spartans 49-0. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 33 points or more this season.

A big part of Carroll's win came down to the chemistry between Gabe Frisinger and his top target Jaidon Vanpelt. Frisinger threw for 248 yards and two TDs on only 18 passes while Vanpelt picked up 166 receiving yards and one score. Vanpelt's longest reception was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Carroll also got help from Mason Baughman, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.

Carroll didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Homestead to a completion percentage of just 48%. The Chargers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.4%.

Carroll's defense didn't let Logan Frieden, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Evan Brubaker with two. Linkoln Grabner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for Carroll, bringing their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games. As for Homestead, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Carroll will head out on the road to take on Fort Wayne Northrop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Homestead, they will be playing at home against Fort Wayne North Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
