Basketball Recap: Ponitz Career Tech Starts Season with Win Against Stivers School for the Arts

Ponitz Career Tech had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past the Stivers School for the Arts Tigers with a 51-47 victory on Friday. The game was the first time the Golden Panthers have beaten the Tigers on their court since January 22, 2022.

Charleston Dixon was a one-man wrecking crew as he went 6-for-15 on his way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. Obama Khater was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Stivers School for the Arts is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Ponitz Career Tech will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Belmont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stivers School for the Arts, they will take on Tri-Village at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday.
