Basketball Recap: Eldred Comes Up Short

Eldred lost against Sullivan West back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eldred Yellowjackets fell 49-41 to the Sullivan West Bulldogs. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Eldred lost, don't look at Olivia Gonzalez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 46.3% of Eldred's points, marking the third time in a row Gonzalez has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Furler, who earned ten points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Eldred's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Sullivan West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Eldred nor Sullivan West have any future games scheduled.
