Basketball Recap: Ridge View Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Ridge View had won six straight road games dating back to last season and Anasia Harvey did her part to make it seven on Wednesday. The Ridge View Blazers snuck past the Spring Valley Vikings with a 77-73 victory thanks in part to Harvey, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 boards. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Janiya Carter, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Spring Valley still got an impressive performance from Zie'L Ratchford, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 25 points. Ratchford is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariana Moody, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Ridge View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Spring Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Ridge View and Spring Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Ridge View (ranked 39th) will meet West Florence (ranked 200th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Spring Valley (ranked 11th) will meet Westwood (ranked 90th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
