Basketball Recap: Living Word Lutheran Comes Up Short

Living Word Lutheran lost against Lake Country Lutheran back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning.

Despite the loss, Living Word Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jordan Evans went 7 of 11 on his way to 21 points. Evans' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Ryde Ehley was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Country Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Burow, who went 9 for 15 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Burow is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cleary, who went 7 of 10 to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds.

Living Word Lutheran's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Lake Country Lutheran, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
