Football Recap: Jackson Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Josef Walker and Aaric Beasley

Jackson Academy lost against Madison-Ridgeland Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raiders took a 35-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Aaric Beasley and Josef Walker certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Beasley gained 126 total yards and a touchdown, while Walker threw for 227 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes.

Samuel Stockett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, throwing for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Colson O'Cain was in the mix too, providing the Patriots with two scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson Academy fell to 4-1. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Jackson Academy will venture away from home to take on Magnolia Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
