Baseball Game Preview: Excel Panthers vs. Murphy Panthers

Excel will square off against Murphy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Excel lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Blacksher, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Panthers blew past the Bulldogs 11-1 on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Trent Williams was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Nettles, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Excel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blacksher only posted an OBP of .318.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four matchup, Murphy brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over Williamson on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Murphy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Excel, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
