Barlow has gone a perfect 4-0 against Nelson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bruins will be playing at home against Nelson at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Nelson will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Barlow extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Bruins' pitcher stepped up to hand Sandy an 11-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Bruins have beaten the Pioneers on their field since April 15, 2019.
The result came thanks to Kaylee Pokorny 2025's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Barlow let Peyton Trickel 2025 and Charliann Renner 2025 run wild. Trickel 2025 went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Renner 2025 went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alyssa McCormick 2028, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Barlow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Nelson posted their closest win since April 9th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Gresham 10-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for Nelson.
The team relied heavily on Abigail Huspek, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyvia Pietsch, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Nelson's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Barlow, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Barlow took their win against Nelson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nelson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
