Basketball Recap: Devonte Wade's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Amherst County over Liberty

Amherst County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Liberty Minutemen didn't end well, with the Amherst County Lancers falling 65-47. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Minutemen earlier this season, when they won 75-58.

Amherst County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Devonte Wade, who posted 13 points. What's more, he also posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Holt Bresach was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Amherst County's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Liberty, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-17.
