Basketball Recap: Bethesda Christian Takes a Loss

Bethesda Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Victory Christian Academy Patriots, falling 53-33. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1403rd, while the Patriots are ranked 587th).

Victory Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brennen Ables, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds. Layton Huddleston was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Bethesda Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Victory Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
