Baseball Game Preview: Oakland Tech Bulldogs vs. Berkeley Yellowjackets

Oakland Tech is 0-4 against Berkeley since March of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Oakland Tech Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 11:00 a.m. Oakland Tech is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

If Oakland Tech beats Berkeley with ten runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went Oakland Tech's way against Saint Mary's on Wednesday as Oakland Tech made off with a 10-3 victory. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Rasheed Pittman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Hayden Burton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Berkeley had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Marin Catholic by a score of 2-0.

Oakland Tech's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Berkeley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
