Volleyball Recap: Southwestern Academy Takes a Loss

Southwestern Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the New Covenant Academy Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on March 6th.

While Southwestern Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-21.

Southwestern Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. New Covenant Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Southwestern Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Waverly at 5:00 p.m. on April 14. As for New Covenant Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Castaic on the 29th.
