Football Recap: Millbury Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Millbury can now relate to. They were dealt a 49-20 defeat at the hands of the Northbridge Rams on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Woolies in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Millbury lost, don't look at Matteus Mateo. Despite the final result, he rushed for 58 yards and one score, and also threw for 201 yards and one TD. 82 of those passing yards were hauled in by Cole Guilford.

Leading Northbridge to victory were Morodney Daigle and Joel Lachapelle. Daigle rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry, while Lachapelle rushed for 85 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Daigle has posted since back in September.

Millbury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Northbridge, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Millbury and Oxford will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Northbridge, they will take on Cohasset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Skippers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
