Basketball Recap: Bradwell Institute Finds Playoff Glory Versus Rome

It's playoff time, and Bradwell Institute had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victor by a 56-31 margin over the Rome Wolves on Tuesday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Parris Parham was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-17 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jamia Ousley, who posted four points.

Bradwell Institute smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 30 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Loss or not, Rome got some senior leadership from Tristahja (mo) Slocum and Jermiya Winston. (mo) Slocum went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points and seven boards, while Winston earned nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, (mo) Slocum now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy.

Bradwell Institute has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season. Rome is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-10.

Bradwell Institute has already played their next matchup, a 52-42 victory against Lee County on the 21st. Rome does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
