Basketball Game Preview: College Park Cavaliers vs. Klein Collins Tigers

The College Park Cavaliers will challenge the Klein Collins Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. College Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Klein Collins likes a good challenge.

College Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They secured a 72-68 W over Spring. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Lions are ranked 452nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aiden Buckmon was his usual excellent self, going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on his way to 36 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Inman, who went 8-for-14 en route to 19 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Klein Collins beat Cypress Lakes 65-57 on Tuesday.

College Park is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points over those games. As for Klein Collins, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

College Park didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Klein Collins when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. Does College Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Klein Collins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
