With a playoff win on the line, Middlesex rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Keyport Raiders a 10-0 shutout. The Bluejays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Middlesex is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Keyport, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
