Basketball Recap: Talawanda Comes Up Short

If Talawanda was feeling good fresh off their 63-30 takedown of National Trail last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Talawanda Brave took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harrison Wildcats on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Brave in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Mitchell Mercurio was nothing short of spectacular for Harrison: he went 6-for-10 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Mercurio a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Marx, who posted ten points.

Talawanda's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Harrison, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-13.

Talawanda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harrison, they will welcome Mariemont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
