Preview: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Berrien Rebels
Atkinson County is 1-9 against Berrien since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Atkinson County Rebels are on the road again and play against the Berrien Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th.
Last Friday, Atkinson County came up short against Brantley County and fell 37-29.
Atkinson County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Savanna Williams, who scored 9 points, and Kamari Moore who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Berrien's game on Saturday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 51-46 W over Bacon County. The win was just what Berrien needed coming off of a 57-24 defeat in their prior match.
Their wins bumped Atkinson County to 2-2 and Brantley County to 3-3.
Things could have been worse for Atkinson County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-40 loss to Berrien when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Atkinson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
