Football Game Preview: Ryan Raiders vs. Brewer Bears

Ryan is a perfect 6-0 against Brewer since November of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ryan sitting on three straight victories and Brewer on four.

On Thursday, Ryan made easy work of Denton and carried off a 38-14 win. Considering the Raiders have won four matchups by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ryan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rontavian Brown, who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Brown a new career-high. Quin Henigan was another key signal caller, throwing for 166 yards and one TD while completing 73.1% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ryan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Brewer didn't have too much trouble with Fossil Ridge on Thursday as they won 45-27. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Panthers are ranked 564th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ryan's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Brewer, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything went Ryan's way against Brewer in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Ryan made off with a 31-7 victory. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
