Soccer Game Preview: Benton vs. Danville

The Benton Tigers will head out to take on the Danville Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Benton proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Selinsgrove 1-0. Give Benton's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Danville was not quite Southern Columbia Area's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1.

Danville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-2. As for Benton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1-1.

Benton beat Danville 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
