Basketball Recap: North Fayette Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Clayton-Ridge last Friday, North Fayette Valley came back down to earth. North Fayette Valley were dealt a 72-34 defeat at the hands of the West Delaware Hawks on Saturday. While losing is never fun, North Fayette Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while West Delaware is ranked 71st).

North Fayette Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for West Delaware, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

North Fayette Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Delaware, they will take on West Marshall on Wednesday. One thing working in West Delaware's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
