Basketball Recap: West Rowan Takes a Loss

West Rowan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. The game between them and the Central Cabarrus Vikings didn't end well, with the West Rowan Falcons falling 49-32. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Central Cabarrus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniyah Burton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Burton has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Louella Blanchard, who posted 12 points.

West Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Central Cabarrus, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

West Rowan and East Rowan will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. East Rowan will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something West Rowan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central Cabarrus, they will head out to challenge Robinson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
