Baseball Game Preview: Mogadore Wildcats vs. Chippewa Chipps

The Mogadore Wildcats will take on the Chippewa Chipps at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mogadore has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mogadore is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering John F. Kennedy Catholic just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Chippewa had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Comets 4-2. Four seems to be a good number for the Chipps as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Chippewa's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mogadore, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
