Preview: Edgewood Red Wolves vs. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers
Edgewood is 0-6 against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Edgewood Red Wolves will face off against the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Edgewood will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
With a playoff game on the line, Edgewood rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Titans 54-8 on the road. Edgewood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shelby Preble, who scored six points along with 13 steals and five assists. Preble hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Preble, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past Cocoa Beach 65-22 on the road. The win was just what Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy needed coming off of a 62-40 defeat in their prior contest.
Edgewood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Edgewood was taken down by Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy 59-27 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Edgewood, Lynn Rieth (who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
