Baseball Recap: East Hickman County Comes Up Short

East Hickman County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 12-7 to the Houston County Fighting Irish. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Irish earlier this season, when they won 12-3.

Jayden Malugin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. East Hickman County is 5-1 when Malugin posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braden Presley, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

East Hickman County's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Houston County, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-13 record.

East Hickman County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Houston County, they will challenge McKenzie at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
