Softball Recap: Vienna Comes Up Short

Vienna and Massac County squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Vienna had to settle for second. They fell 10-5 to the Patriots. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Jenna Waters was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Anniston Steinmann, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Vienna's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Massac County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-15.

As of now, neither Vienna nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
