Des Lacs-Burlington waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They managed a 63-57 victory over the New Town Eagles. Given the Lakers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Eagles are ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Des Lacs-Burlington pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for New Town, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Des Lacs-Burlington will head out to challenge Bishop Ryan at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for New Town, they will face off against Turtle Mountain at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
