Baseball Recap: CSTHEA Plays to a Tie

CSTHEA and Whitwell pushed the score to 19-7 the last time they played Whitwell, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. Neither the Patriots nor the Tigers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Andrew Kerley spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. CSTHEA is 2-0-1 when Kerley allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

CSTHEA's tie gives them a new season record of 5-8-1. As for Whitwell, they moved theirs to 15-8-1.

Coming up, CSTHEA will face off against East Hamilton at 11:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitwell, they will head out to face off against Moore County at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
