Baseball Recap: Springboro Panthers vs. Butler Aviators
If Springboro was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Springfield on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Butler Aviators by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aviators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Springboro got a good showing from Jacob Rhinehart, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Rhinehart has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Colten Muhlenkamp and Jacob Cane did some serious damage despite the final result: Muhlenkamp scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Cane got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
