Volleyball Recap: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Beats Steward for Their Third Straight Win

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Steward Spartans by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-11, 27-25.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eleanor Smith-Jones, who had ten digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Smith-Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Rountree, who had nine assists and eight digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's record is now 8-11. As for Steward, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.
