Basketball Game Preview: Chopticon Braves vs. Bowie Bulldogs

The Chopticon Braves will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Bowie Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Chopticon will be strutting in after a win while Bowie will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, Chopticon turned things around against King's Christian Academy on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 46-33. The Braves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Chopticon can attribute much of their success to Kirnique Swales, who posted 22 points. Swales' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Abrielle Cook was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Bowie unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between them and Gwynn Park didn't end well, with Bowie falling 51-37. The game marked the Bulldogs 's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Chopticon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Chopticon suffered a grim 46-26 defeat to Bowie in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Chopticon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
