Volleyball Game Preview: Martins Ferry Purple Riders vs. Shenandoah Zeps

The Martins Ferry Purple Riders will take on the Shenandoah Zeps at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Martins Ferry got the win against Wheeling Central Catholic by a conclusive 3-0. The Purple Riders haven't had any issues with the Maroon Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-13.

Martins Ferry can attribute much of their success to Gracie Lucas, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most digs Lucas has posted over her last seven matches. London Hodor also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shenandoah, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Columbiana on Tuesday.
