Volleyball Recap: Villa Angela-St. Joseph Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Villa Angela-St. Joseph had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Mayfield Wildcats.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mayfield work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24.

Mayfield moved to 1-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Villa Angela-St. Joseph and Mayfield will both be playing Howland the next time they take the court. Villa Angela-St. Joseph will head out to face Howland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Mayfield will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
