Basketball Preview: Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves vs. Person Rockets        
        
		
            Cedar Ridge and Person are an even 5-5 against one another  since November of 2017, but  not for long. The Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves will face off against the Person Rockets at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Cedar Ridge lost  57-31 to Williams on Friday. The Fighting Red Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the  defeat, Cedar Ridge had strong showings from  Kate Finnegan, who  posted six points along with six  rebounds and three  steals, and  Kassidy Tolliver, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 11  points and nine  boards.
 Even though they lost, Cedar Ridge  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 15  offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams only pulled down nine  offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Person was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They had to suffer through a   77-39 loss at the hands of Western Alamance. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 409th, while the Warriors are ranked 24th).
 Cedar Ridge will need focus on slowing down  Nayahana Marner, one of several Person players who made an impact when they last played. She  went 6 for 10  en route to 14  points. Marner is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's  played.  Destyni Harris was another key player,  putting up seven points and six  boards.
 Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Person, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
 Cedar Ridge came up short against Person in their previous matchup  back in December of 2024, falling  30-25. Can Cedar Ridge avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
