Basketball Game Preview: Lone Star Rangers vs. The Colony Cougars

The Lone Star Rangers are taking a road trip to take on The Colony Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lone Star knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully The Colony likes a good challenge.

Lone Star fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Wakeland on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 72-70. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Wolverines are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, The Colony was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 40-36 to Creekview. The Cougars have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The Colony's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-15. As for Lone Star, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-16.

Lone Star came up short against The Colony in their previous meeting back in January, falling 44-40. Can Lone Star avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
